Tips to Re-energize

November 9, 2017

We know that life can get hectic and can be all too much to handle sometimes. Juggling kids, a job, finances, a relationship, and everything in between, it may seem that there is just not enough time in the day to get everything done. If you find yourself exhausted and tired in the middle of the day, you’re not alone! Hitting a wall when you’ve gone through most of the day is perfectly normal, especially when you have a full schedule behind and ahead of you. These tips will be your guide to re-energize your body to ensure that you’ll be able to complete your day without leaving any tasks behind.

Step Outside

If your work involves sitting inside for most of the day, then chances are you rarely see the light of day. Sitting in front of the computer underneath the fluorescent lights can be physically draining on your mind and body. This is why we encourage you to step outside to re energize yourself. Catching some Vitamin D, hearing the birds chirp, and breathing in some fresh air can do wonders to your body in a short amount of time.

Stretch It Out

Whether you’ve been sitting at a desk all day or pounding out the chores, we encourage you to take some time in your day to stretch or do a little yoga. It’s no secret that life can cause tension in your body if you’re stressed out; stretching can help you relieve that tight feeling and anxiety that is caused by stress by relaxing you. Plus, the stretching increases blood flow and oxygen to your muscles which in return will give you that little boost of energy that you’ve been needing to get through the rest of the day.

Grab A Snack

In order for your body to last throughout the day, your body needs fuel to feed off of. You should always be sure to eat enough food throughout the day (breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner) so that you aren’t draining your energy by causing your body to go into starvation mode.

H20

Drinking enough water every day is a crucial part in maintaining a healthy and energized body. Keep a water bottle with you all day to remind yourself to keep on drinking that water. This will give your body the proper fuel to keep your body moving because any bit of dehydration can make you feel sluggish and sleepy.

Work It Out

You may be thinking, “Won’t working out make me more tired?” In fact, adding a midday workout will be a great addition to your day that will get you re-energized and ready to take on the next few tasks in the day. Any form of exercise will get your blood flowing, heart rate pumping, and release endorphins, which are all perfect for regaining energy. In addition, working out regularly will strengthen your heart and increase your stamina, helping you last longer throughout the day.

Power Nap

Sometimes all we are lacking is a little sleep, especially when we have such a busy schedule. Don’t be afraid to take a little power nap in the middle of the day (as long as you’re not at work) to catch up on your Z’s. You may be surprised at how much better you feel after a quick nap. After a 15 to 20 minute power nap you will notice a burst of alertness, creativity, and even better motor performance.
