Easy Ways To Freshen Up Your Home

September 21, 2020

Many of us are working from home, attending virtual school, and spending more time at home. Chances are you’ve noticed that it’s time to give your home a makeover. If you have a bit of spare time, why not take this opportunity to freshen up your home? There are plenty of easy and budget-friendly ways for you to give your home some new life and maybe even new inspiration. Here are some of our favorite easy ways to freshen up your home.

Deep Clean

As ridiculous as it sounds, sometimes all our house really needs to feel new again is a deep clean. Mop and vacuum the floors, dust the blinds, clean the floor boards and moldings, clean the windows and mirrors, clean out the fridge and freezer, wash the sheets, flip your mattress, clean the cushions and more! Call us crazy, but you may be surprised at how fresh your home feels after a deep clean.

Feature Wall

One of the biggest trends right now is having a feature wall. This can be a place in your home that you want to make stand out with color, pictures, and more. Choose a wall in your home that you want to stand out and give it a fresh coat of paint in a new color. You can even add dimensions to it by creating patterns on the wall, or if you’re feeling wild, opt for some new wallpaper. Yes, wallpaper is back!

Front Door Revamp

If you have the liberty of changing up your front door, a quick change can do wonders to your curb appeal! A simple coat of paint with a new and exciting color can really make your front door more welcoming and even fun! Have fun with it and paint it a bright color like red, yellow or blue! If you aren’t feeling that bold, a simple change in the hardware can even amp up the curb appeal. Swap out the old door knob and locks for a more modern look.

Landscaping

It’s amazing what some gardening can do to a yard! Spend some time outdoors pulling overgrown weeds and trimming the plants. And if you’re up for it, plant some new plants or flowers! Finding a local nursery is a great spot to get some new plants and flowers at a reasonable price. You can even plant a few pots and bring them indoors to add some greenery (and oxygen) to your home.

Layout

Chances are you’ve had the same furniture layout for years! Why not switch things up and try a few new layouts? Moving your couches and tables around can give your space a whole new perspective without even adding in new furniture.

Organize

Sometimes organization can be the thing weighing us down. Take some time to organize your things—you may even find plenty of things to throw away, sell or donate! Once you have organized your closet, or even that junk drawer, you just might feel like a weight has been lifted off of your shoulders!

Throw Pillows

When a new couch isn’t in the cards, why not try a cheaper option to freshen up the place? You can simply get new throw pillows to bring some life back into your couch. Try out new colors and textures to give your place a whole new look.

Upgrade Fixtures

Upgrading your fixtures indoors is another easy and budget-friendly way to freshen up your home and bring a more modern style indoors. You can easily do so with a fresh coat of paint and turn old brass or silver fixtures into a black modern feel. Grab some spray paint and painters tape to get started on your new project!
