This flavorful rice is built around the bold, smoky taste of Perfect Taco Blend, featuring warm spices like cumin, smoked paprika, and oregano. A touch of tomato paste adds richness and color, transforming basic rice into a savory side that’s perfect for taco night, burrito bowls, or grilled meats.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups long-grain white rice (or substitute with jasmine or quinoa)
  • 4 cups water (use 3 3/4 cups for firmer texture)
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste (optional, for color and richness)
  • 2 tablespoons butter or 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon PERFECT TACO BLEND ADD TO CART
  • 1 teaspoon GARLIC GODDESS BLEND ADD TO CART
  • 1 teaspoon SOULFUL SEASONING SALT ADD TO CART
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Drain well.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the rice, water, tomato paste (if using), butter or olive oil, and all seasonings.
  3. Stir well to dissolve the tomato paste and evenly distribute the spices.
  4. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  5. Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover tightly, and simmer for 15–18 minutes, or until the water is absorbed.
  6. Remove from heat and let sit, covered, for 5–10 minutes to steam.
  7. Fluff with a fork and taste. Adjust seasonings if desired before serving.

Notes

  • For even more flavor, you can use low-sodium chicken or vegetable broth in place of water.
  • If you have fresh herbs like cilantro or chopped green onion, sprinkle them over the rice just before serving for a fresh finish.
  • This rice pairs well with grilled meats, tacos, and burrito bowls—try using leftovers as a base for breakfast burritos!
